There are a number of Universal Basic Income trials underway around the world.
While this would seem like a step in the right direction, it is unnecessary. There is nothing to try.
Universal Basic Income is proven to work. For the past 30+ years, an entire state in the U.S. issued a "dividend" to every citizen in the state. This is not something that is being "tried" but a full blown payout to each citizen regardless of any other status.
Another example that is not a trial, but full implementation, is the Cherokee Indians in western North Carolina. For over 20 years, the profits from their casino were spread to every member of the tribe. The payouts started in the $4,000 range and increased upward over time.
There is no great surprise as to what the results were.
When the casino opened, Professor Costello had already been following 1,420 rural children in the area, a quarter of whom were Cherokee, for four years. That gave her a solid baseline measure. Roughly one-fifth of the rural non-Indians in her study lived in poverty, compared with more than half of the Cherokee. By 2001, when casino profits amounted to $6,000 per person yearly, the number of Cherokee living below the poverty line had declined by half.
The poorest children tended to have the greatest risk of psychiatric disorders, including emotional and behavioral problems. But just four years after the supplements began, Professor Costello observed marked improvements among those who moved out of poverty. The frequency of behavioral problems declined by 40 percent, nearly reaching the risk of children who had never been poor. Already well-off Cherokee children, on the other hand, showed no improvement. The supplements seemed to benefit the poorest children most dramatically.

Notice how the results are that the payouts helped the poorest children the most. They were able to avoid many psychological and behavioral issues. Outside of the pharmaceutical industry, who does not want this?
Implementing Universal Basic Income does not require evidence; that is already well established. What is required is political will. That is how stuff is enacted by governments. How many bills are passed where research is done and evidence presented?
Alas, that is not our fight. Manna is not about trials or political will. Rather, it is about taking action to get tokens in the hands of people who need it. We realize this is an enormous challenge so there is no time to waste. Society spent enough time screwing around with its politics, trials, and debates. It is time for action.
The development of cryptocurrency enables us to bypass the traditional models to fix problems. There is no greater catastrophe on this planet than the fact that hundreds of millions of children are starving.
This is our focus. Manna is already passing out tokens to more recipients that any other basic income program outside the Alaska Dividend Fund.
