Hello guys hope all of you are doing good.
Finally, the joker had been put down and the Dark Knight came out victorious. The game has been finished so it’s time for a quick review.
Story:
It starts off with Joker being taken by Batman to the Arkham Island’s asylum. For many of the GCPD members the assault that was about to take place was unimaginable. Batman had a hunch about Joker. That Joker would never let himself be caught so easily. Joker, when being taken away, get free and gets full control of the asylum. He had planned for this for months. The asylum patients are let loose and mayhem befalls the island. Little by little Batman uncovers Joker’s plans by passing his trials and man hunt with ease. Batman discovered the traitors within the staff who helped Joker methodically. One such person was Dr. Young. She took out the drug within Bane and started a research on it. Joker got the word and started to fund here in large sums through an alias Mr. White. In the end Bane was furious with the ordeal and attempted to take out the Bat. He was put down then and there.
She later figured out it was the Joker who funded her but by then she had already figured out the formula and called it Titan. After her job was done Joker had Zsasz take Dr. Young as a hostage. Joker had a front row seat during the incident.
He made gallons of it. He used it on his own men and it was a success. Batman sought Poison Ivy’s help. Reluctant as she was gave away the old plant in the sewers in Killer Croc’s Lair.
This could counter the Titan formula. Amidst all of this, Scarecrow also joined in.
He made a new toxin that would bring out a person’s deepest darkest desires and fears. He doused Batman twice but could not break him. Joker administered the Titan formula into Ivy’s plants. The plants become more dangerous and grew all over the island. Batman could not use the antidote on the plants but defeated her.
After all the other freaks were put down Joker invites Batman for the grand finale, a party in the Penitentiary. Joker then reveals Gordon. He was held midair by a chain. Joker shoots the dart containing Titan formula to Gordon. Batman gets in the way and takes it. Batman resists the change and the clown becomes furious and takes the formula himself. Batman takes out the psychotic menace along with his remaining thugs and saved Gordon.
Then Batman call for his Jet and flies off.
Characters:
Apart from the villains, Batman’s allies at the GCPD and sidekick do not do much help in the whole of the game. Oracle was the only support Batman had. Riddler was always there with his conundrums for the bat.
Arsenal/Gadgets:
Batman has a wide range of gadgets at his disposal. That gives him an edge over the powerful foes he faces every now and then. This time he carried his primary gadget of choice, the bat claw. Later he upgrades it to Ultra bat claw which releases 3 claws at once. The most iconic: batarang. It can be upgrades using skill points to be able to throw up to 3 batarangs at once. Explosive gel, remote controller batarang, cryptographic sequencer. I gave it a 10.
Combat:
Basic hit and counter buttons made it easy to use from the beginning. Batman’s knowledge about fighting styles is very good. Seeing him perform takedowns is the most satisfying thing a Batman fan can see. Here, a takedown is allowed after an 8 successive hit on one or multiple enemies. However, it can be upgrade with skill points and reducing the combo multiplier to 5. The gadgets are a good retainer of combo when enemies are far away. They also help maintaining combo when a barrage of hits are being delivered and a random enemy moves in for a strike. Usage of gadgets mid fight also gives bonus XD, further helps to acquire skill points. I give it a 9.5.
Areas:
Arkham Island is relatively big. It consists of the Botanical Gardens in the North East end. Arkham Mansion on the East side. Penitentiary and Medical Facility on the West. An Intensive Treatment ward in the heart of the Island.
Enemy Type:
A stereotypical thug with no weapon, a thug with a a melee weapon i.e a baseball bat. A thug with a knife. A thug/patient with Electric Sticks. Mutant thugs having the titan formula. Lunatics running free. A thug with live firearms. Plant based pods that release a kind of spore.
Costume:
There are more than 50 different costume for Batman. Both suit and DLC suit. I did not find and for free hence I cannot add anything from my part.
There are 2 mentionable scenes that are simply marvellous.
