I have always wanted to take a cruise on a boat down the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok and i figured today was the perfect opportunity for three reasons because it a nice sunny day , no tourist in Thailand and all tours are half price at the moment so i got my half price ticket for the Hope-on-Hope-of boat which was only $1 dollar US and hope on the boat and as i said no tourist in Thailand at the moment , i was the only foreigner apart from maybe 20 Thai people on this tour boat.

The Chao Phraya River also known as the River of Kings flows through the center of Thailand for a distance of about 380km and then ends up in the Gulf of Thailand. This river has unaccountable amount of history and today the cultures of these histories can see been see along this river. The Wat Arun known aslo known as the Temple of Dawn built in the 16th century is one of icon temples along this river.

All along the river sides you will see many old Thai houses amongst today's modern skyscrapers that for some reason just seems to blend in the old with the new , i would say if these old Thai wooden houses were taken away from the river it would lose all it's traditional culture look.

These old wooden stilt houses were built by the farmers along the river many years ago they would have the river to fish out of and transporting there crops to the markets along the river was convenient while having there farm land in behind there stilt wooden house what a beautiful fresh life that was in them days.

A lot of Thai people still live in these wooden stilt houses that have been passed down through generations and the more stronger ones have been turned into cafes , restaurant and even little backpack hotels.

Even this old solid metal rusty old boat blended in beautifully with the surrounding what a lovely antique even has a little house built on deck.

After cruising along the river for about a hour i decided to hope of at the Grand Place to talk a walk around the local suburban areas and grab some late afternoon lunch. The Grand Place is a spectacular group of temples and museums but you need a full day in there to see it all this wasn't on my today's agenda maybe another day.

Walking away from the Grand Place along the river , i came to a shopping arcade walking through the enterance pathway were these really cool bikes hanging of this wall quite intriguing and colorful to see and the graffiti at the end came me a bit of chuckle.

This shopping complex wasn't big but it was done in a unique and beautiful way with many coffee shops and neat little restaurants with great snacks facing the cool river.

With a full belly i decided to have a bit of a wonder around this area before taking the boat back home the area here seemed to have some pretty nice vibes with the street vendors and the people enjoying there freedom again after the lockdown.

The day has been very interesting have seen new areas of Bangkok saw some nice Thai culture on the river and of the river and it was time to head back to the pier and head back home not that i wanted the day to end as here in Bangkok there is some much to see that you never want your day to end.

I had made it back to the pier in perfect timing the taxi boat which i could take back home was just arriving at the pier and these taxi boats you can ride up and down the river for 50 cents US one way so i was on and heading home just as the sun had gone into hiding amongst them dark clouds looking like late afternoon shower but didn't happen luckily.
