Happy Easter!! You cannot help but celebrate such a #BeautifulSunday today! It's Easter, it was warm and sunny and Hello? Easter!!! I want to thank @ace108 for hosting the #BeautifulSunday tag every week, and, I would be remiss if I didn't give a shout-out to @c0ff33a for hosting #SublimeSunday where your random Sunday posts are always welcome! I love my @c0ff33a and he loves eclectic. A match made in heaven!
This was an old greeting card that was my great grandmothers. Long ago and far away, before the internet, people would send greeting cards to each other, especially on Holidays or when they were on Holiday. Then, they usually send a special postcard to announce where they were. I used to love getting a postcard, especially one that was made out to me.
I started collecting old greeting cards, I usually found them at second-hand stores or even Goodwill occasionally. I didn't go crazy, collecting each one that I saw, but, rather let them speak to me, there had to be something special about it, otherwise, what's the point? You have a box of old cards that mean nothing to you. So, I have left it to the discretion of my inner self and honestly, she has done a great job. (insert smile here)
I'm not so sure that they were too happy here by the writing on the card. "Why don't I hear from you?" Yikes... Isn't that a nice Easter Greeting?
Phones were so expensive, they tended to write short little snippets, just to let you know they were thinking of you, or that you weren't thinking enough of them. It is kind of nice, the delay in getting a message, instead of the instant gratification. There was the element of surprise, I think that is missing from today. But, for what it is worth, each kind of communication has its advantages and disadvantages.
My church is open and so there was an Easter Mass. So long they have been closed, but, we are fortunate to be able to access it online. Just like magic, we don't miss hardly a beat. I marvel at all that we have been able to do within the confines of our own home. If we didn't want to go shopping, we could either order them for home delivery or the pickup service where you order online and pay for it too, then drive up and they put the groceries in your trunk. No contact. So, yes, it has been a challenge, but, they have truly made it livable. I can call my people, use Zoom and even play a game with them. My friend, Stephanie said she plays Yahtzee on Facetime and I tried it... Guess what? Another game to my Zoom time! It is more challenging, but, I love it!I have dinner every night with the whole family. We always did, but, the roundup is so much easier when they are here! We are enjoying cooking more. We hardly ever eat out, but, now we never eat out. Fine by me!
It was a perfectly #beautifulsunday. The sun warmed my soul from the inside out, a most delightful way to feel. My day started, just the way it should, @c0ff33a in hand, a little half and a half and no sugar. A Simply #sublimesunday kind of day.
There must always be a flower to color my world. #alwaysaflower And, just like that, this show is over. Come back tomorrow and I'll do it again! Have a fabulous week ahead!
All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.
It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

The Naming of Cats
The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn’t just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I’m as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.
