First of all, we are not massive beer drinkers. Yet, we like a drink from time to time. I (Sam) especially love trying new local beers and equally love to compare them. We have travelled from the North to Central Vietnam and over the 10 days we have been on holiday, we have sampled 5 beers. The one we have spotted the most, yet we like the least is Saigon Special. It has a more musky and mature taste, which differs from the lighter Hanoi Beer, Lào Cai and Huda beer. The Halida beer, which we had in Hanoi is in between all of them. Our trip is not over and we are on the sleeper bus right now heading to Da Nang, which we will use as a base to visit Hue and Hoi An. We are sure we will find local beers there too!
