As usual on a Friday night I went to the chip shop for what some call a fish supper. My other half was out, so I settled in for a relaxing evening. My selection box lucky dip came up with Boondoggle. Oh dear, the reviews are not great. This is a very light coloured ale. I have to say the taste was nothing special, but it wasn't unpleasant. It just didn't have any 'wow factor'.
Here's the rear label for your reading pleasure.
This picture of my dinner didn't come out very well. My son and I split a 'small' portion of chips and it was plenty. I think the lady at the chippy gives me extra as I'm a loyal customer.
The movie was The Martian. I know it's a couple of years old, but I didn't get around to seeing it before. I bought the DVD a while back. I have to say I really enjoyed it. I love a story that has some science behind it. Apparently NASA got involved to help make it realistic. IMDB gives it 8/10. I like to check out the trivia for movies I see. There's lots there for this one. I want to read the book some time as I expect there's even more science in that. If you haven't seen the movie it's about an astronaut being left on Mars after the mission gets aborted and the rest of the crew think he's dead. He has to be very ingenious to survive as any rescue could be years away. The people at NASA have to figure out how to get him back. You have to wonder if they would go to such lengths for one person, but they are probably very conscious of bad publicity.
Here's the trailer.
