Blogging Requires Hard Work
Blogging requires a level of dedication that not everyone is willing to commit to. For your blog to grow you will have to write posts several times a week or more. Blog posts should always have images. Stats show that posts with images get far more traffic than those without images. While the images can be simple they do take time to create. Promoting your new blog is also an important component for growth and will also require time and effort.
A Successful Blog Takes Time
Your blog will not be a hit from day 1. Sorry. It will take longer than you think for your site to gain solid traffic numbers. It may be up to a year of writing consistently quality content before you can consider your blog to be successful. SEO strategies can help you speed up this process but natural growth still takes time.
Blogging Can Be Scary
It can be scary to put your work out on the internet. People can be harsh with their comments and criticisms. It can also be lonely when starting out. You may be writing for a month and still not have very many visits to your site. Doubt will start to creep in and you may think about quitting. (Keep Blogging!)
Blogging Can Be Confusing
Trying to explain your blogs performance when starting out can be very confusing. You may have a post which gets plenty of traffic while the very next day’s post has 0 hits. What? It’s all part of the process and when starting out it’s best not to get discouraged. With time you be able to analyze your posts and explain why certain posts perform better than others and make adjustments.
Blogging Is Not The Same As Writing An Essay
We usually use the word blogging instead of writing because there is a difference. With blogging we are specifically writing for the web, not a magazine or a term paper, but for the web. When you write you should always have your audience in mind. The audience of the web reads material very differently than they read a magazine or a novel. Quick tip, keep your post short.
