To combat inflation, the plan is to throw $80 billion at the IRS.
Okay, so, we're dealing with inflation because the government is spending too much money and the government's solution is to spend more money in order to combat the consequences of spending too much money.
I mean, I'm aware of the saying, "You gotta spend money to make money."; but, this is an obscene interpretation.
As the IRS has operated to this point, the nearly 80,000 IRS agents have focused the overwhelming majority of audits on incomes under $100,000.
There are 614 billionaires in the country.
So, 80,000 IRS agents to 614 billionaires. If you believe the lie that the rich don't pay taxes (they actually pay almost all of it) and that billionaires just use a bunch of clever tricks to avoid paying their fair share, what do you think this is gonna do?
Do you honestly believe that the IRS was just $80 billion short of being able to audit all those rapacious billionaires so they focused on the little guys because of their budgetary restraints? Seriously? Are you going to try to make that argument? Are you going to tell me that it makes sense to you that a solution to inflation is to throw a billion dollars per agent at the IRS which already spends most of its energy harassing average people who can't afford lawyers?
