For the rest of us, it goes like this:
“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Was Biden attempting to recite the pledge of allegiance? AP and PolitiFact claim he wasn't. I believe Biden was attempting to recite the pledge, though that is a matter of conjecture. If he had remembered the pledge, he probably would have said, "one nation under God, indivisible" -- instead of "one nation, indivisible, under God" -- and then he probably would have added the next phrase from the pledge as well, "with liberty and justice for all" rather than the idiotic phrase "for real."
This is reminiscent of his botched recitation of the Declaration of Independence: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: all men and women created by, go, you know, you know the thing."
After closely following AP "news" reports and "fact checks" over the last few years, I no longer consider it to be a reliable source of unbiased information. I doubt if you would accept a FoxNews fact check service as reliable. Similarly, I don't trust AP, given its political bias.
I have read several other "fact check" services often enough, including PolitiFact and WaPo, to know that they interpret the news in ways that allow them to accuse politicians of falsehoods in a highly subjective and selective fashion.
My conclusion: Don't trust fact-checkers to tell you when a politician has lied. Read the quotes, investigate the facts, and interpret the data for yourself.
Trump says many things that aren't true. In this regard, Trump and Biden are not so very different.
