Hello Hive-Community! π
We hope you had a wonderful christmas and very relaxing holidays so far! ππ
What were you up to during the last days?
We already posted our first two videos, one with music and one with a soundscape. We added Binaural Beats to them to make the relaxing effect more efficient.
So as we use Binaural Beats very often, because it has a great effect on us, we want to explain a little bit about them.
Binaural Beats are used to influence your brain waves. Our brain oscillates in specific frequencies. Depending on the activity we do, the frequency changes. For example there are "fast" (and subtle) frequencies like GAMMA waves. These appear when you are awake. They modulate perception and consciousness.
These frequencies go down to BETA, ALPHA, TETA and DELTA waves.
DELTA for example are the lowest (slowest) and highest amplitude ones. These appear when you are asleep.
Binaural Beats are used to entrain your brainwaves to patterns exhibited during specific mental activities.

LetΒ΄s clear this up with an example:
Let`s say you just come home from a really stressfull working day. There was a traffic jam on the way home and when you arrive home you are really stressed and you have problems calming down. Your brain will oscilate in GAMMA waves at the moment. These are frequencies of about 39-42Hz. To come to a relaxed state, your brain needs to get down to at least APLHA waves. These are at about 8-12Hz.
Now you listen to Binaural Beats with 8Hz. The brain always tries to adjust to the frequencies it is hearing, so it is now trying to oscillate in 8Hz. This will help you get your brain to a relaxed state faster than without the right frequencies.
The human ear can only frequencies higher than 20Hz. So it needs a bit of a trick to make the brain able to "hear" frequencies below 20Hz.
Let`s say we want to produce the 8Hz like we did in our Video Bonfire Mood. We will than make a sinus wave with 104Hz which is only audible in the left ear, and a sinus wave with 112Hz which is only audible in the right ear.
The difference of the frequencies of 8Hz is the Binaural Beat which will be audible like a phantom sound in the brain now, and the brain will try to adjust its ocillation to it.
So it`s possible to adjust the Binaural Beats to many different purposes:
- For relaxing
- To help you fall asleep easier
- or even to concentrate better or be more creative
π§ To be able to listen to both frequencies (left and right) at the same volume, it is important to use headphones, thatΒ΄s how you get the best effect.
If it`s a good technique for you or not, you have to try for yourself. We love it and it really helps us. But some people become nervous or get a headache from it. So just try it with a short piece of music first and decide if you like the effect or not. :)

Well there is much more to say about this technique, but we hope we could explain a little bit to you what this technique is about.
So now that you know what Binaural Beats are for, maybe you want to try out our first videos which include Binaural Beats. :)
So far - because it is perfect for the holiday season - we released a music and a soundscape for relaxing. :)

We wish you a very good start into the year 2022!! :)
