We are GROUPALABAN, one of the 5 research group of Grade 12 STEM Sapphire, and in this article, we will unfold the true secret to eradicating the lifelong problem of plastic.
Did you know that conventional plastic, the kind of plastic we've grown up with, is now replaceable with a safer, eco-friendly alternative? With the intelligence and suggestions, we've discovered a safer, biodegradable alternative to conventional plastic, and we're excited to introduce it to you. This alternative, made from talahib extract, is easily disposable and durable, all while being environmentally friendly. Its disposal is as easy as burning but without fire.
The prototype is incomplete, even after overcoming struggles and trials, we've made major progress. The only missing parts are the final adjustments for it to reach our goal and pass the standards. The aim of this research is to produce an alternative solution for traditional plastics and reduce single-use plastic pollution, which has the highest rate of undisposability. The disposal of plastics has been a persistent problem for decades. Most plastics end up in landfills, where they take hundreds of years to decompose, or in oceans, where they harm marine life and ecosystems. Single-use plastics are especially harmful because they are used for a short time and then discarded. Traditional plastics take hundreds of years to decompose, clogging up landfills and harming ecosystems.
Our bioplastic is made from renewable and natural resources, which means it doesn't contribute to deforestation or fossil fuel extraction. It's also designed to break down quickly in the environment, so it won't linger in landfills or oceans. Our work is far from over. We still have to perfect the formula for our bioplastic, ensuring that it's durable enough to be used in various applications. We also need to conduct more testing to ensure that it's safe for human and animal consumption. But we're confident that we're on the right track. Our bioplastic has the potential to revolutionize the way we use plastic, making it safer and more sustainable. We hope that our work inspires other researchers and companies to develop their own biodegradable plastics, leading to a greener and cleaner future for all.
Our team, consisting of Angelkris Ferolino, Duncan Escalona, Fritzie Abello, Gerard Macalindol, Gian Espiritu, Pauline Matira, Ramir Rosales Jr., Ralph Cabral, Rochelle Panopio, and Yesha Dalisay, has made significant strides in developing this bioplastic. Despite challenges and setbacks, we're close to perfecting our prototype and reaching our goals. The goal is to create a plastic alternative that not only reduces pollution but also has a minimal impact on the environment.
