I love finance and I love technology and there has never been a better time for FinTech lovers than it is now. The blockchain is certainly going to have a major impact on our society. Some are skeptical, others are perhaps over-optimistic about Bitcoin and other coins. Of course, any new technology takes time to be fully understood and accepted by the society. Hopefully, in coming 5-6 years people will have a different perspective and more rational view of these cryptocurrencies than it is now.
So here is my attempt to break down and explain Bitcoin and later blockchain in general, both from a financial and technical background.
In this first article, I have tried to explain the existing monetary system, the problems associated with it and how a decentralised system like Bitcoin can address these issues.
