Not at all. Just because Bitcoin and Ethereum were already very profitable for the ones who got in early, it doesn’t mean they won’t continue being in the future.
Currently, crypto currencies and other blockchain digital assets are evaluated at about $100bn. That’s a very small fraction in the world of financial assets and these technologies can do a lot of things besides digital currency.
Take a look at gold for example. A lot of it’s value comes from speculation as it’s a somewhat rare metal and can be used to give a value to currency. Technologies like bitcoin can do that and much more using cryptography and having users mining and securing the network. To put things into perspective, gold has a market cap of $7.6 trillion.
Technology has been and will continue to profoundly change the world’s economy. Bitcoin and other blockchain technologies are a huge landmark. I would say there’s still a long way to go
