BTCUSD has smashed through the 5000 psychological level to new record highs above 5400. Though this isn't the biggest one day rally in percentage terms, it is a new record in dollar terms. Rally was $615 from the open to the close, vs the previous record of $612 set back in July:
What's even more astounding is the volume traded: though yesterday's volume pales in comparison to the September 15 reversal, it's still a 4 week record and it's very rare we see this kind of volume this far into a rally.
Wowzer ... wish I'd just bought against the low like I mused in yesterday's post. Oh well better late than never: long 1.4 coins from around 5100. Scrapped EOS long to play this.
The break above 5000 opens up the path higher to 6000 and beyond. We have an equal legs target at 6124, followed by the 161.8 extension of the China correction just shy of 6200:
Don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves, but the next extension target takes us to within an inch of $7000:
Kudos to anyone who bought the lows last month - you're laughing XD
