I believe in cryptocurrency and the blockchain more ardently than the most pious Christian believes Jesus Himself will lead him/her to the Great Pillars of the Heaven of the One True Almighty God. It's revolutionary technology, technology with implications so profound and wonderful that 99.9 percent of us (me included) can't come close to comprehending them. This technology will bring us perfect elections where every vote is cryptographically verified, anonymous, and available for public inspection. There will be no doubt. This technology will allow (already is, actually) allow the yam farmer in rural Nigeria to lay verified claim to his plot so that when the men with guns come saying his land is theirs, he can go to the local police station or army outpost and prove them wrong. This technology is currently taking money and power from the Great and Powerful Old Man Monopoly Banker Oz and putting it in the wallets of normal working people right now, as I type.
So it's not that I don't like Bitcoin. I just think these bankers are going to win. I think Bitcoin will go to zero, and I want to get out while I still can and maybe put some more money into my Fidelity IRA. I hear stocks are cheap right now.
So I sold. I don't know. Maybe I'll regret it someday. Doesn't matter. It's only money.
