DAV is targetting transportation, a market crowded with competitors. DAV is a transportation protocol that decentralizes the delivery of any transportation service and allows the market to price any transportation service. It has competitors that are using the blockchain and those that do not.
Off-Chain Ride Hailing Apps
Off-chain ride hailing apps have a huge market share. They offer a convenient technology-powered transportation service. These compete with DAV's ability to create new decentralized car transportation exchanges. DAV hopes that its ability to offer no fees can win over customers. DAV can only win a part of the market share as it is unlikely that a completely decentralized marketplace would be able to properly verify drivers.
Existing ride hailing services only partially compete with DAV. DAV can win this battle once and if road transport shifts to AVs. The quality of driver would not be a factor then.
DACSEE
DACSEE intends to be just like Uber but with no central authority. DACSEE competes only partially with DAV. It competes with DAV's ability to create new decentralized car transportation exchanges. DACSEE has a first mover advantage in this category. Once again, DAV can win this battle once and if road transport shifts to AVs as MVLChain cannot support those vehicles.
Helbiz
Helbiz is developing a Mobility System which works similar to DAV but with some limitations. Helbiz's protocol is designed to create decentralizes vehicle hailing services on land, sea, and air. Helbiz has a business headstart as it has many partnerships but is behind on technological development as DAV's protocol is live and functioning.
Other dApps
A number of dApps have been in the process of raising funds for a development similar to DACSEE. As with DACSEE, these compete with DAV's ability to create new decentralized car transportation exchanges as they are a car transportation exchange. These dApps have lost the battle as competition is intensifying yet they are still failing to raise funds. Meanwhile, DAV has been a rather successful fund-raise so far.
