We use global M2 and not just regular M2 because bitcoin is global and it responds to injections of global liquidity
Global M2 data is pushed ahead by 108 days. It's real data-- not a guess. (This is the most common misconception)
A lot of analysis has gone into arriving at the current 108 day offset. We didn't have the tools at the beginning and thus the offset was not as good. It has stabilized now and will only be subject to fine tweaking as the shift itself does seem to change slightly through time.
