Paypal and Venmo are rumoured to add Bitcoin support in the near future, according to this Coindesk article.
This is huge news in terms of adoption and making Bitcoin available to a wider audience. It might just be the event that propels Bitcoin over the $10,000 mark.
Many people will hear about Bitcoin for the first time when that happens: more than 10 years into its existence. Bitcoin will finally be "mainstream".
And many of these newcomers will wonder why they never heard about Bitcoin before or if they did, why they believed Bitcoin was "bad" for such a long time. They will regret that they didn't get into Bitcoin a few years ago when it was still "affordable".
But there is a reason for this:
a) the narrative in the media
b) the demographics that were targeted whenever Bitcoin was mentioned
I stumbled across this presentation by @cryptofinally recently, which explains this very well. Some of us simply had no chance to hear about Bitcoin earlier.
That's why it's so important that we share this with our communities: the demographics we belong to.
We all need to hear about Bitcoin from someone who gets us. Bitcoin and Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies and DeFi are such a huuuuuge and complex topic, that we need someone who can distill things down for us, to just the part that actually relates to us personally. So this must be someone who understands our unique situation, challenges, fears or opportunities, so that we in turn can get it and understand how important Bitcoin might be for our personal and collective future.
That's why women should teach women, students should teach students, entrepreneurs should share this in their business networks, pensioners should teach other pensioners, the black community should have black teachers to learn from, and so on.
So if you get Bitcoin, please share it, so that no one will be left behind.
