Do you have a crypto-plan B? I found the first Coinmarketcap.com table I saved from November 29, 2013. Bitcoin was making the first bubble-like top, at least as it got known publicly in 2013. It’s price surged more than 10 000 percent in 12 months. It’s market capitalization was still very low, 13,3 billion dollar. (Now, it is 103 billion.)
Empty or full?
Is the glass half empty or half full? Your choice. If you bought Bitcoin for 20 dollar in 2013, I suppose, still empty. If you purchased it in December for 18 000 dollar with a credit card…
But this table also teaches us that cryptos can loose popularity very much, and being crypro-HODLER only doesn’t garantee success. Litecoin is in a relavitely good shape, although it has fallen to the 6th place, the price now is still twice than that in 2013. But the others? No signs a bright future.
68-98 percent losses
Peercoin is now on the place 186 of Coinmarketcap, Namecoin on rank 288, Feathercoin 244, Megacoin 871. Protoshares is called Bitshares now, on rank 34. Novacoin 539, Worldcoin 1043. (Of a total of 1486.)
Make plan B
Peercoin’s price fell 68 percent in all this years, Namecoin 88, Feathercoin 91, Primecoin 82, Megacoin 98 percent. Yes, the others fell, too. I know a lot of cryptos on the top of the current capitalization list are relatively new, were launched 2017, 2016 or 2015… But 5 years from now on, others, other totally new ones will occupy the best places? That would be bad news for HODLERS.
So, I suggest, don’t invest all your money in the same crypto, and make a plan B just for the case, a long crypto winter was coming.
