I've seen many people run through devices and I've accepted many working Android devices from people. I'm good with electronics and Android runs two of my favorite programming languages (Java & C++) so when people would start to trash a working device I would offer to take it and recycle it for them. After about 5 devices I realized there's a better way then just donating a device to charity. I started setting the devices to Wi-Fi only and I had mobile game players!
The kids loved it for a few times until we realized most of these devices are not powerful enough for more then one or two games. In a drawer they sat until I decided to re-up my hashpower. I hit up my cloud miners on my website via the Invest & Miners section until I re-found Minergate. I noticed they offered a bunch of Altcoins as in new ones from the last time I logged in (~1 yr before). Then I saw they had a mobile application. I thought easier to use since I'm a mobile only user. The app wasn't what I thought, it turns your phone into a miner. I looked at my mobile game players (MGP) drawer and sparks engaged. All my MGP's have quad processors, all have micro graphic chips, a few minutes later they all had the Minergate app.
I want to note that these Wi-Fi devices are on my mobile hotspot.
So, I logged in and had them all mine. At this point I have 3 devices running low but constant hash rates, per device. Monero has the highest payout but also the highest difficulty. I have automator accounts on Google Play so I figured out which phone dies faster. I put an automator on that phone to text me when it hits 15% power (When the pop up appears on screen about device needing power saving mode.). The Minergate app stops at this point as well. I or my wife would flip a switch on a surge protector and power the devices, 2 hours later we flip the switch back off. After a few days I took my Bitpay card and bought an Internet of Things (IoT) power protector. Now the automator sends APIs to my IoT power protector. As you get one issue fixed another appears.
Heat is always a problem and I knew this was coming, I designed a few docking-rigs to hold a number of devices. I picked the bigger version then built it. It holds 9-12 devices, has fans blowing on the devices and the power box fits beside it so more work could be done with it. I was using a 5$ switch power protector plugged into my IoT but it can only handle two devices at a time. I bust out the Bitcoin Debit Card again after some research and I snag a new USB power and transfer box. This box can supply 15 Amps at once to 6 devices but it also has data transfer! I take a plung on myself and purchase an additional line with my mobile provider. My wife and I cannot really afford it but we get a free 150$ phone and of course unlimited data.
Now I have to secure my internet. I run my phone through my old Raspberry Pi and then it's connected to a router. I run a a series of protection checks then sends out the data. I can't run these extra protection services on my phone reviving the connection and I can't run Minergate at full power on that one device. After a series of app updates I'm able to mine multiple coins at once on a single T-Mobile mobile tethered internet line.
I eventually mine enough to buy a couple 40$ phones to add into the miner list. Now I'm almost 3 months in after the first two devices. I am saving up for my first XMR+XDN mining computer & I currently have 8 mobile miners (Only 2 are part time miners that I use when my kids are in trouble, devices charging, kids doing chores & when they are at school.).
I'm earning ( approximately per week ):
-0.02 $XMR
-20.0 $BCN
-2.50 $XDN
-0.00075 $BTC
If you noticed I had Bitcoins in there well let me tell you how, I was given a tablet that didn't mine at a profitable hash rate so I dropped it to Bitfun's Offer Torro video Ad mining. So now I'm earning more direct Satoshi to help me along.
"Wow," is what I thought when I ran through my data. People told me you cannot profit from mobile mining but I'm using mobile device mining to start a mining business. You cannot just listen to others and look at stats, sometimes you gotta know how to work your devices for better stats. I run approximately 100+ GB of data a month (per that 1 line) and thanks to my automated process system I save money on electricity in comparison to ASIC miners. I'm also working with an experienced Miner Building Team to build a R.Pi + Android Digital Note or Bytecoin miner with one Raspberry Pi and 15 Android 7.0 motherboards.
I want to start a Computer and Mobile Device Recycling Distribution Center, where electronics would be sent to the CMRDC. Working devices will be turned into miners ( contributors of working devices will receive 15% of revenue earned by that device ) while non-working devices would be broken down for parts for R.Pi+Android miners, non-working parts would be delivered to a recycling plant for industrial recycling but that's another story!
