Bitcoin will surprass Visa and Mastercard as the top payment system in the world. This is the forecast by Datalight.
This will happen in 10 years.
The reasoning is they believe the number of nodes, which top 10,000 now, will keep growing. The addition of Lightning Network will also expand the network.
There are presently about 25 million wallets compared to 5 billion credit cards. The network effect is going to play into this and give Bitcoin the growth it needs to catch up.
