The Report
The broad cryptocurrency market continues falling this afternoon, with only 4 of the top 100 coins showing gains this afternoon.
Bitcoin is currently at $10,265 down about 9% from yesterday afternoon. We continue to edge closer to the psychologically important $10,000 support level.
Bitcoins continues to pull Steem, and almost all of the rest of the market, down with it. Currently Steem is at $4.93, down about 16% from yesterday at this time.
SBD is trading at $5.46, down 19% in the last 24 hours.
As feared, the supply of liquid Steem jumped dramatically in the last 24 hours as Steemit whales are continuing there massive power down. The amount of liquid Steem jumped by 5.4 million Steem. That's a 7.7% increase in the supply of Steem available to be traded on the open market. It also means that whichever whales are liquidating their holdings continue to do so. If this continues week after week we will inevitably see a dramatic drop in the price of Steem.
