Nobody, but an entity maybe. In this case, the NSA would have managed to discover its true identity. Why ? The Obama administration would be concerned in recent years about the possibility that Satoshi Nakamoto is a Russian or Chinese agent and / or that bitcoin itself may one day be turned against the United States in a way or a way. other; like a weapon, actually.
The method of stylometry
Stylometry is defined as "at the crossroads of linguistics and statistics" on Wikipedia; the word itself is not referenced by the dictionaries. This technique was used by the NSA to identify Satoshi Nakamoto. And this is simply explained: the creator of bitcoin has taken all the necessary technical precautions (encryption and obfuscation methods) not to be found, but has made a mistake by making public his "own words".
It is therefore based on all that was officially published by Satoshi Nakamoto that the NSA worked. These are blog postings and e-mails, including those he traded with Hal Finney, who is known to have received the first bitcoin transaction from Satoshi Nakamoto (and can be viewed here).
According to Alexander Muse, who obviously has a lot of information, the NSA used on the one hand its computer power, on the other hand a database of several trillions of conversations of billions of individuals in the world. This also explains why ordinary people who have already tried the stylometry process to find Satoshi Nakamoto did not arrive there, simply lacking raw material.
