The blockchain-powered idle role playing game Nine Chronicles is coming to Steam, and its first pre-sale will go live on July 15th on 1PM GMT. There's no specific date for the Steam release yet, but the developers mentioned the it will happen later this year. The official Steam page makes mention of a Mid 2020 release date.
When the game releases on Steam, it will be in Early Access. The developers want the Early Access to take approximately three months. This would mean that Nine Chronicles gets its official release before the end of the year.
Before the idle role playing game will be available on Steam, there will first be a pre-sale for Nine Chronicles. Planetarium has capped its first pre-sale phase at least 70 thousand dollars. During the pre-sale gamers will have the change to acquire some presale-only exclusive items. In addition the developers are giving away one thousand Beginner's Packs worth 3 dollars each. These are filled with potions and other consumables for in the game.
Custom Nine Chronicles blockchain
It's important to know that Planetarium is making Nine Chronicles using their own LibPlanet tools. These tools allow the game to be completely opensource, and in addition the developers make the game run on its own custom blockchain. This blockchain is maintained by the players, meaning that the developers can never pull the plug.
During the most recent and seventh beta test over 20 gamers activated this functionality, allowing them to earn the in-game currency while keeping the network live. There’s an explorer for the custom blockchain as well. The beta test for the game attracted over 70 thousand applications, but ultimately only 2000 gamers have been given access.
The great war between the gods ripped the Nine Worlds apart, and even though the gods eventually put an end to their conflict, the scars of war had already started to cause Yggdrasil, the world tree to wither. Then one day, a stray cat in Midgard wishing to be reborn as a human, was called by the goddess and reincarnated as a half-cat, half-human being.
