I found a bitcoin ATM in a gas station i go to.
It was one of those surreal experiences that i had,
i thought to myself, "Whoa is this for real"
The fact is i had seen it a month ago,
and was genuinely surprised by it.
I was not expecting to see any ATM's anytime soon.
Back then the prices of Bitcoin were around $1700-1800 and they were selling 1 bitcoin at around $2500
Look at it now--
(Caught myself there too)
They are now surcharging around $1000 more than the actual market price of the bitcoin.
The price for convenience?
Not really-
It is actually a painful experience of going to the gas station, paying so much more than its current worth
and then having to verify yourself first, before being able to buy it.
So, why are these in existence?
My guess is since people do not know how exactly to buy it,
if you are a person who just heard about bitcoins and its growth
and wanted to buy it so you don't miss out on it.
Then, i am guessing you wouldn't have proper knowledge of where to buy it.
And Bingo!!! When people see it at their local Gas station, They buy it.
The fact is Bitcoin ATM's aren't so hard to find these days.
This map shows where to find the Bitcoin ATM's near you.

The funny thing is when i asked the cashier what it was he explained or tried to atleast by saying,
"It is like Western Union"
So, naturally i smiled and was no i know what it is, but...
Then, his supervisor stepped up and said, "It's for hiding money"
