To cash into the cryptocurrency boom, I decided to invest into the mining phenomena. I started off with cloud mining contracts from genesis (get 3% discount by using https://www.genesis-mining.com/a/1313466 - if req code is "Dmf8qK") and hashflare (https://hashflare.io/r/FB6FA022). Once hashflare decided to change the contract agreement from a lifetime bitcoin contract to 1 year mining contract, I got disillusioned and decided not to invest in cloud mining (at least not with hashflare) in the short term.
To start mining on my own, I did some research and based on the availability I built a rig with the following hardware configuration
MSI Z270-A Pro Socket LGA1151 Motherboard
4 x Zotac GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC
320 GB HDD
Intel Pentium Celeron processor
4GB DDR RAM
Once I configured Windows 7 on it, I tried to use different mining software such as claymore, minerd, nicehash, etc. Nicehash seemed to offer the most profitable option wherein their software decides the best algorithm to mine at a given point in time. I have been using it close to a month and have already had a payout of 0.011 BTC (nicehash pays out in BTC) with a daily payout of around 0.0005. I do plan to add a few more GPU cards that are more profitable. I will share my experience with nicehash and rig going forward.
