Although providing a futures instrument as a hedge for Bitcoin prices may offer stability in the market, it also has the potential for abuse as we observed during the 2008 global financial crisis.
Another possibility is that another cryptocurrency gains traction instead of whatever coin CME claims to have 'tamed', thus keeping the market free!
