It's no surprise that Peter Schiff, the notorious gold bug and economic advisor to the Ron Paul presidential candidacy, has been trying to warn people for 20 years about the forthcoming economic collapse... and also that bitcoin is bad.
He tweets a lot about bitcoin, especially when it's in a bear market or a flat-out crash like we have now. I get it, too, because even if he didn't want to talk about bitcoin, his audience wants him too, which is evidenced by how many replies to his tweets are goading him on the topic of cryptocurrency.
These are the search results for "bitcoin" on his Euro Pacific Capital website:
Here's a recent tweet:
So, obviously -- he's not a fan... right?
I Did A Little Research...
I went to his gold site, Schiff Gold, and did a little searching around to find this link in the footer:
Wa-wa-wa-whaaaaat?
Tell me, Peter: for what do you accept bitcoin?
I clicked through the link to find this:
Peter is "proud" to accept your payment for his gold in BITCOIN.
Honestly...
I'm glad he's accepting payments in bitcoin.
This is a great time to get your hands on some of this precious digital asset.
What do you think?
It's not surprising when a public figure famous for FUDing bitcoin turns out to accept it as payment or somesuch other thing.
What do you think about this? Is it hypocritical? Is it ultimately a good thing?
Tell me in the comments below.
