Who wanted to be a Billionaire? I'm sure just about everyone that had access to purchase a ticket for the record-breaking 1.6 BILLION dollar Mega Millions Jackpot last night. The excitement was everywhere yesterday, almost every person I talked to mentioned the lottery at least once in a conversation. It was impossible to turn on the TV or read the news online without seeing some kind of advice on what to do with all of your winnings.
Unfortunately, all of us, except for one lucky individual in South Carolina had our hopes and dreams crushed. All the dreams of Bentleys, mansions, and yachts disappeared faster than you can ask your Boss for your job back. An instant snapback to reality as soon as the last ball fell.
Yesterday a good friend of mine reached out to me and asked if I wanted to throw in some money and join his office pool. I appreciate the fact that he thought of me because I'm stuck on a U.S. Marine base right now and they don't sell lotto tickets on base. I was excited to join in the excitement and I started to have my own visions of a private island as well.
But then I stopped for a second, and thought to myself what are the actual odds? I asked myself if I was just throwing money away to join in on some of the excitement? The F.O.M.O. set in... HARD. I visualized myself being the only one to Not buy a ticket and then all of my friends were now instant multi-millionaires. Wow, that would suck... to be the one guy that didn't become a millionaire and he had the chance to.
I snapped out of it. I knew that playing the lottery was just a waste of my money, and there is a reason that I don't play it. I immediately pulled out my phone and logged on to my Coinbase app, and made a purchase of Bitcoin in the amount that I would have thrown away on lottery tickets.

I had to stick with what I know and what I believe in. I believe in this technology.
Also, there are only 21 Million Bitcoins, and there are 292,201,338 different lotto combinations. I will take those odds any day. You don't have to purchase a whole Bitcoin to start accumulating either, this is a common misconception. You would be surprised how much 10 dollars here and 20 dollars there adds up over time. Dollar cost average and accumulation, have a plan and stick to it! Don't become distracted. We have our own lotto that we are a part of every day in the cryptocurrency space, and this lotto can payoff for so many more people than just one person.
