The price of the bitcoin digital currency rebounded Wednesday after significant fluctuations in recent sessions following the cancellation of a software update while bitcoin cash bitcoin branch has fallen sharply.
On Bitfinex exchange, Bitcoin is at $ 6,897.00, at 05:49 AM ET (10:49 PM GMT).
Bitcoin has fallen about 29% in recent sessions, falling below $ 6,000 on Sunday after peaking at $ 7,900 last week.
Prices fell after a scheduled software update this week was canceled due to lower support.
The planned split or fork, dubbed "SegWit2x", would have roughly doubled the network's processing capacity, making bitcoin transaction costs much lower.

Bitcoin Cash has a total market capitalization of approximately $ 21 billion at current prices, making it the third most valuable cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin, which is known for its strong fluctuations, has a tendency to rebound rapidly after bends. It has increased by more than 500% since the beginning of the year and, at current prices, it has a total market capitalization of approximately $ 115 billion.
The strong rise reinforces the fears of an asset bubble. Earlier this month, managing director Tidjane Thiam warned that Bitcoin was the "very definition of a bubble".
The CME Group (NASDAQ: CME), the world's largest derivatives exchange operator, announced this month its intention to launch bitcoin futures later in the year, pending regulatory approvals.
Elsewhere, the Ethereum, the second largest market-ready cryptocurrency, dropped 0.13% to $ 333.90.
