Bitcoin is a beast. It goes out to haunt some people yet it rewards others in insane ways. Never in my life have I been more surprised and shocked by a coin, or the idea of a coin that exists in the internet. It is still unreal for me to realize the immensity of the topic and the future that lies ahead for Bitcoin. However, I know that this is the world that we live in where people can invest in a global economy that is not affected by authority but instead grows and drops by the people that control it. I still don't fully understand it but I try my best to tame this wild beast that continues to grow.
Bitcoin is the first decentralized currency that started in 2009 that records its transactions through a public ledger called blockchain. Its creator is Satoshi but no one knows who he is or where he's at or even if he is alive. There are many mystery surrounding Bitcoin but it is what it is; it has development behind it, supporting different technologies and forks that further its growth. It started as a small amount of money and people were investing couple dollars into it just to test it out. Some thought it was a scam and took out the money while some gave it to other people to surprise them. Others kept the coins and are in a good place right now because a single coin cost about $4600 and that is just insane to understand. Globally, Bitcoin is spread through the major news networks, the financial networks, and through social media which markets the coin so well. It is on a good path right now and only has more to go.
Now how has Bitcoin changed my life? Well, ever since I learned about the coin, I have been researching it nonstop. I learned how Bitcoin started, how it trended through the years, and how it is doing right now. I learned how there are different versions of Bitcoin which are altcoins, that started to trend as Bitcoin grew. Coins like Ethereum, Litecoin, and Dash, are all altcoins that continues to fulfill what Bitcoin tries to do but in different ways and technologies. Furthermore, there are so much information out there, both practical and technical, that I cannot stop the research. It continues to grow through Altcoins and ICOs and the growth will never stop because of the community behind it. Many of the supporters are global anonymous people of all ages and all nationalities; they are not bound by restrictions and locations. There needs to be a limited regulation to keep scams and ponzi schemes from dominating but the freedom is what gives the people the motivation to continue.
