How do I setup an account?
Firstly head over to www.bitfinex.com to create an account and click on ‘Open Account’. Bitfinex also offers a demo account to use.
Make sure you read and accept the terms and conditions given to you
Fill in your personal details in the various text boxes
After you have clicked ‘Open Account’ the next page will guide through how to verify your account. Go to your inbox and confirm the validation email to proceed.
How do I Get Verified on Bitfinex?
Once your account has been created you will see the ‘Account tab’ in the top right hand corner hover over to it and select in the drop down menu ‘Verification’
Click’ Begin Verification’ to proceed to being verified to purchase cryptocurrency with the fiat currency of your choosing
After clicking ‘Begin Verification’ you will be taken to the verification process you must fill in a variety of details and also upload a variety of documents to be verified by Bitfinex
Due to high demand the verification process can take up to 6 - 8 weeks after all the forms have been submitted.
How do I purchase cryptocurrency?
Click on the deposits tab in the home page and you will be directed to the deposits homepage.
You can deposit via fiat currencies such as USD and Euro ( For guidance on how to verify your account to deposit these currencies check the ‘ How do I get verified on Bitfinex’ tab) however we will proceed by selecting Bitcoin.
Copy the Bitcoin address from the Exchange Wallet option. Open your wallet client e.g Coinbase and deposit the funds.
When your funds are fully confirmed click "Trading" at the top and choose your desired crypto pairs.
As an example we are going to be buying ETH/BTC
You will be presented with a wide array of data about the selected crypto pair
To the left of the page you will see the order form. Enter the amount of your desired currency that you would like to purchase and click ‘Exchange Buy’
Finally once your order has been completed you will be able to see your purchased currency in your bitfinex wallet.
