Welcome to the 20th Bitshares State of the Network (BSotN) report. I will be releasing this report weekly to look at the changes in the ecosystem and track longer term changes in a effort to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares platform.
Bitshares - State of the Network - 1st February 2016
The Bitshares State of the Network Reports seeks to combine raw data from a wide range of metrics and combine them into meaningful information to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares network.
Observation from this week
This section will highlight any observations made while analysing the data.
Alfredo Garcia has a core development update HERE - Highlights include: Install and test asset api to the new bitshares-core project from the old cryptonomex, project from the old cryptonomex, Created a public function that does the same as get_account_history_public but can be called without authentication. and resolution of Issues.

Peerplays has announced the formation of a new entity known as Peerplays Blockchain Standards Association (PBSA), The PBSA is a non profit organisation located in Canada, Governed by the laws of the Provence of Nova Scotia. This means that as of the upcoming Peerplays ICO; Everything including development and funding will be moving to the control of the PBSA, BunkerChain Labs will be relinquishing its holding and handing them over to the PBSA. The PBSA will also control a 'Trust' fund that will ensure that all funds from the upcoming ICO will be 100% used for development of the Peerplays blockchain. More information will be available in the future regarding the PBSA.

@clayop has lodged a BSIP to change the incentive structure behind smartcoin issuance; this has been a hot topic on both the forum and the BitshareDEX telegram channel this week with many suggestion all focused on the one end goal; incentives for users to issue smartcoins. Fun casino has distributed 0.29 Open.BTC to FUNC investors this week as part of their revenue sharing model.
Bitshares user 'enter' is 3 registration from being the #1 registrar on the network; currently in 2nd postition only to openledger. 'enter' is however in #1 position for the Most fees paid with a total of 6,395,582 BTS (Before LTM discount)
The last asset registered this week is asset #1266 and it is named 'LEOGBP' registered by 'super-leo' with the description 'Test GBP asset'.
Current registered wallets/accounts within the Bitshares network is 154149; an increase of 438 wallets/accounts since last week
