I do believe that the blockchain technology will greatly help our society to fight corruption and simplify bureaucracy.
For example, it offers an opportunity to implement processes with unprecedented transparency.
Also, the decentralization of these processes will make them more democratic. Think about a voting system that uses blockchain technology thus making the manipulation and fraud of elections impossible. Blockchain will make voter registration and identity verification impossible to counterfeit.

The blockchain will provide the necessary transparency for the charity sector. This way the donators will be sure that their donations will end up in the right hands as every donation will be tracked by using blockchain technology.

So yes, the blockchain will very much help. It is not a case the World Economic Forum elected the blockchain technology as one of the six technologies with the greatest impact on our society in the next 10 years.
