As a retail player in this volatile crypto market, most of us know that a blockchain can't solve the blockchain trilemma simultaneously. Co-founder of Ethereum, Vitalik, once said, “Blockchain systems have to tradeoff between different properties, and it’s very hard for them to have three things at the same time".
How Does Dexon Solve the Trilemma Problem ?
- Scalibility : Responsive Byzantine Agreement
"Responsive Byzantine Agreement" reaches fast finality, which allows DEXON to support 10k TPS (Transaction per second) even in the testnet.
Validators (nodes in Dexon network) interact with each other as soon as the messages arrive
- Decentralization : Fair Cryptographic Sortition
The consensus mechanism of Dexon is Cryptographic Sortition , unlike other mechanisms, a small set of validators, called the notary set, is selected fairly to propose and verify the blocks every hour, this solution can efficiently avoid the entire network being controlled by specific nodes like supernodes in DPOS.
- Security: Partition-Resilient Byzantine Agreement
Partition-Resilient Byzantine Agreement
If the status of the network is unstable or gets disconnected, the safety of the consensus still holds and DEXON will keep operating normally once the network recovers. Therefore, when the network failure exceeds the tolerance range, DEXON will automatically pause. When the network is restored, the algorithm will automatically restart, without any other external information or community consensus.
