What is Cappasity?
Cappasity is a platform where developers, content makers, and content users come together on a decentralized marketplace to buy, sell, and create AR, VR, and 3D content. This platform is revolved around their CAPP token built on the Ethereum blockchain network, and implements smart-contracts to process the micro-transactions. The Cappasity platform was designed to be built on a blockchain infrastructure in order to have the ability to store and manage 3D digital assets copyrights. As for today, each month the Cappasity platform serves more than 1M views of 3D content. Cappasity is actively used by various luxury brands. Some notable examples are – Jazmin Chebar and Claris Virot. The Cappasity’s platform will be utilized by 30 US educational institutions in 2018.
Cappasity is a partner of Intel, Nvidia and launched their platform in China with the help of Alibaba team. The platform features were designed to be open to other developers using Unity, Unreal Engine, Apple ARKit and Google ARCore technologies.
The Platform
There are three main parts of the ecosystem: the developers, enterprises, & consumers. These main functionalities of Cappasity are all done within the CAPP wallet.
Developers are an important part of the Cappasity ecosystem as they are responsible for creating applications as well as integrating the various content onto websites. Recently, Cappasity also created an innovation fund for AR/VR developers allowing them to earn CAPP tokens- I'll get into this more later in the article!
Organizations are easily able to scan different products and get 3D images of them and upload them onto their websites by using the Cappasity API. They also have access to 3D analytics on their products. All users will have access to the Cappasity marketplace where they will be able to buy and sell 3D/AR/VR content and apps. The consumers will basically be anyone who has a need for AR/VR/3D content for personal use.
The Token
The Cappasity ecosystem is built around their ERC-20 token, CAPP, which is built on the Ethereum network. There are a total of 543,186,326 CAPP, and right now there is a circulating supply of 437,616,887 CAPP. The uses of the CAPP token are actually pretty unique, and that's what I love about this project. By using their platform and creating 3D images, you have to pay 1 CAPP to receive copyright ownership for the content. Cappasity gives users complete freedom to use their platform for free, but in order to create a copyright record for the image, they will be charged 1 CAPP per item. For example, if a e-commerce store wishes to create 500 3D images for products and embed them into their website, they will pay 500 CAPP for the services. All of the copyright information is then stored onto the blockchain, making the information immutable. So essentially, the CAPP token gives you the digital asset rights to these 3D images! The other use for the token is through the Cappasity marketplace where you are able to buy, sell, and rent content and services.
The Mobile App
The Cappasity platform has a unique application that is a part of their business, where users are able to log into their account, and view 3D models and images, and share them with others! One of the things they have been developing recently is the ability to create a 3D image through the application, which is free by the way. In order to get the premium content on their application, you need to use their utility token, CAPP, to purchase the additional functions. The 3D imaging on their app has actually started to look pretty impressive, and is constantly getting better and better!
With the mobile app you can easily turn any item, big or small, into a 3D image!
Innovation Fund
One of the big announcements that Cappasity had recently was about their Innovation Fund for AR and VR developers. This is a fund that the Cappasity team has invested a lot of money into where they enable developers to create 3D assets, where they will then be able to sell them through the Cappasity marketplace with the CAPP token. One of the great things about this fund is the teams and developers who are given grants to create the apps and objects they desire- all preapproved- and receive copyrights for what they create. This is something that is extremely unique about the Cappasity platform, and completely takes out the middleman, making it easy to create your product and sell it via their marketplace. This innovation fund will definitely attract the developers to their project! They have 4 million CAPP tokens set aside for this project, and I am extremely excited to see how it shakes out.
Roadmap
This is a pretty general overview of how Cappasity has gotten to where they are today, but what has the team accomplished? What big "checkpoints" do they have going forward to building a successful business and brand?
One of the biggest accomplishments they have completed recently was an update to their mobile application making it much easier to focus on the object you are trying to create a 3D image of.
You can easily notice how beneficial this is for anyone creating 3D images of an object!
Going forward, I am most excited for the Alpha of the content marketplace to be released in August. Having this application built onto their platform will be a huge accomplishment and will definitely be a great sign of how the platform might look in the future.

The Team
Cappasity was originally founded back in 2013 by Kosta Popov, Alex Chegaev, & Marianna Alshina, and they have built up a team of a total of 26 people behind their project. Let's take a closer look at some of their team members: Kosta Popov, Marianna Weber, and Julia Kasiyanova.
Before helping to found Cappasity- he has been CEO ever since- back in 2013, Mr. Popov worked for Biart in Texas as the CEO, where he collaborated with organizations like Sony, Microsoft, Apple and Google. This organization is still up and running and receiving royalties for their work. To just improve his resume, he was the President of Russian Association of Developers and publishers of Game Industry and Interactive Technologies (RADIT). By being a part of this organization, it definitely helped to blossom his connections throughout the world!

Ms. Weber is currently the Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) at Cappasity. This position is similar to a COO if you haven't heard of it before. The interesting aspect about Ms. Weber is she went to Lancaster University, which is located in England, allowing the team to have an extended reach on connecting with various individuals and organizations. Prior to working with Cappasity, Ms. Weber helped to build partnerships for W.M. Media Ltd. Having this type of experience before joining the Cappasity will definitely benefit the organization.

Ms. Kasiyanova is currently the Business Development Manager for the Cappasity team. Prior to working for Cappasity, Ms. Kasiyanova was placed in several different managerial positions at various organizations. One of the most interesting parts about Ms. Kasiyanova occurred before she began working at the corporate organizations. For almost a decade she was in India at the embassy studying. Having this experience not only at the international level, as well as her work experience will definitely help propel her and the team forward for success.
Final Takes
I think that Cappasity is definitely looking to create a solution for developers and make the process to create and manage your copyrights for these digital images straightforward. In the future this type of technology will definitely be extremely sought after. Cappasity is the bridge for physical assets and allows them to come to life in the digital world! The biggest key with Cappasity is ownership over your 3D digital asset copyrights by having them stored onto the blockchain.
