Stories stimulate ideas and trigger the readers and listeners to take the necessary action. The global community of readers is continually enchanted by the millions of books published yearly with only a fraction of the revenue given back to the writers. The same is the case with the readers who are shortchanged by reading plagiarized texts.
The Problem
Intellectual property (IP) is significant because of the ideas it stimulates in the readers. However, the content creators tend to have little benefits after making their publications, thanks to the centralization that entrusts more powers on distributors than the content owners do. Sadly, efforts to create a viable revenue model for effective reimbursements and continued trends of plagiarism are some of the problems that are rampant in the intellectual property (IP) industry.
Introducing the Storichain Solution
Storichain is a hybrid system that uses the blockchain technology to reinvent the creation and distribution of contents. The first model involves the use of an effective protocol to facilitate the smooth running of the ecosystem. The second is the formulation of a Decentralized Application (DApp) that would foster the decentralization of the entire system and make story creation and distribution an easy affair.
The Structure
Aside from the above features, Storichain also has a feasible template that highlights the interactions in the platform. The ecosystem has four (4) participants, which are the writer, investor, co-writer, and reader.

The Writer
As earlier noted Storichain is all about creating stories in a manner that is free of plagiarism or shortchanging of the content creator(s). The writer is the first participant or beneficiary of the system.
The role is to curate and publish his/her works using the built-in tools on the Storichain platform. Afterward, the writer can use the “debut state” feature to maintain the privacy of the work pending the final release through a crowd-sale or by selling the copyright to an investor.
Co-Writer
The job of the co-writer is to collaborate with the writer to put final additions to a particular work or project before the publication. The co-writer is simply a helper and the services are only needed when it is important. The areas of specialization depending on the co-writers skills. It could be translating texts or simply providing graphics for the work.
Reader
Ideally, the reason why the writer and co-writer started a project is that a reader is waiting to assimilate the contents. However, Storichain structured the reader in a way that he/she is rewarded for taking part/participating in certain activities within the system. The reader also has the opportunity to become an investor or be a co-writer as well.
The Investor
The designation of the investor is to purchase works. This helps in cutting down on the growing spate of plagiarism that has become a thorn in the flesh of the content industry. The investor buys either a published work or contracts to do the same for him/her on a freelance basis.

Storichain, from the proposed structures, has ideal solutions that would change the content industry for good. The use of blockchain, smart contract, and distribution of contents/stories using smart contracts and the built-in protocol gives the assurance of an effective system for both writers/content creators and the consumers/readers.
