The investment in any blockchain technologies I see the problem with people is they blindly invest in the same considering they will get "rich" overnight.
Apologies am not a hard-core investor but I love the technology ICOs put forward.
I think 2018 people would start to seriously consider blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies. In this process, the market will easily become trillion from billion dollar economy. Many countries will lift bans on them and impose some other form of taxation in this regard.
We as an investor, should demand/request all ICO teams to start peer review process and present/get endorsed their future designs in the Cryptography conferences and start investing in research to transform existing technologies to handle the use-cases they put forward if any.
Invest wisely and embrace the new concepts...
