As we call a smart phone just a phone now, we will see Dapps be called just Apps. Also how a non smart phone is now called a flip phone maybe a non Dapp will be called a Capp or corporate App. As something becomes the norm what we call it becomes reduced into a simple form and as some thing is less main stream we tend to be more specific on the name. 15 years ago you would say you have a flat screen TV but now that they are all flat screen TVs we merely call them TVs and we refer to non flat screen TVs as old style TVs. My point is the Dapp days will be come the App days very soon. Many high quality tokens are releasing their main net with the ability of creating Dapps on then. Names do matter and as a community we should push to get rid or the D then the time is right.
