Hi,
yesterday, most of the people in the EU had the chance to vote. Most, as some countries already voted and some citizens have been hindered by their states to vote.
I'm still the citizen of one of those states and I'm not talking about Germany now. I even have to praise the German police for their organisation and help with the election process, even if one of the winner parties in Germany is against the police. I'm really pro police, as long it defends the citizens, which I feel in Germany it does. The only thing that I would have to comment is that they shall have more rights when tackling on criminal rings.
But back to the story of the vote. I voted this time for the Romanian parties and the referendum on justice, which was basically asking, if people would disagree corruption. Of course, like most, we said yes, corruption needs to go.
Because the vote outside the country is strong against the ruling socialist party, they try to hinder it by any means. Yesterday I wanted to vote in Munich, but the queue was over 500m long, which equals to 8-9 hours waiting, waiting to cast a vote.
I said that this is crazy and drove some 100 km to Ingolstadt, where the queue was only 150m long and had only to wait about 4 and a half hours.
Most people won't understand it. After 50 years of real communism and 30 of post communism, people are feed up. We see a shift in an opener country with new ideas. What worries me is that extremist parties are on the rise. Not only far right as in France, where pardon me, my french friends, work is not highly valued and most expect to receive benefits from state and if they don't get it, they blame it on the foreigners. I mean also far left groups, which are the same as the far right in my view.
