I'm a fan of Sci-Fi because it explores the possibilities of our future.
I personally like in particular the stories that are somewhat near-term - thinking about how human life might look like within our or our kids lifetime.
If I look back just 20 years and compare that to now it makes me extremely excited for the next 20 years - and I guess we are all similarly excited about the future otherwise you probably wouldn't hang out on steem!
There are of course recurring themes that are always talked about such as space travel, living on different planets/space stations, gene modifications to enhance vision, strength and even death and YET THEY HAVE TO WEAR FUCKING DIAPERS IN THEIR SPACE SUITS!
Some came up with solutions like integrated catheter and similar but how come that defeating death seems plausible but fixing the waste management system in humans is something never talked about?
Not only is it annoying to go to the bathroom all the time it's also super expensive. Have a look around and see how much money and space could be saved if you could just get rid of bathrooms altogether!
Not to mention that it would make space travel and zero/low-G environments a lot easier.
Am I crazy and the only one annoyed by it?
(Up next: Why the heck do we still need to waste so much time eating - can't we just get a high energy pill instead. Don't get me wrong, I like a good steak as much as the next guy but sometimes having to eat is just an annoying waste of time really)
