Perlak Kingdom is an Islamic kingdom in Indonesia located in the vicinity of Peureulak, East Aceh from 840 to 1292. Perlak or Peureulak is well known as an area that produces timber wood, an excellent type of wood for shipbuilding.
Extremely abundant natural products and a very strategic position make the Kingdom of Perlak growing rapidly as an advanced commercial port in the 8th century, visited by ships that among others came from Arab and Persia.
This makes the development of Islamic society in this area, especially from the process of mixed marriage between Muslim merchants with local Muslim women.The development of religion and Islamic culture in Indonesia for centuries has left behind many traces.One of the legacies of the Islamic political system that is growing and developing a patterned kingdom of Islam.

The historical source of Perlak Kingdom is Malay language manuscript and various historical evidence such as Silsilah Raja Perlak and Pasai, written by Sayid Abdullah Ibn Saiyid Habib Saifuddin.
