Good day dear Hive community, first of all I would like to welcome you to my new post as always and hope you have a pleasant start to the new week! Here I would like to talk about Norse mythology and hope you can learn something new.
Here are some works of art that I created with the help of artificial intelligence and represent the dwarves from Norse mythology. Unlike in other cultures, in Norse mythology there is no own forge god like Hephaestus or Vulcan but here were especially the dwarves known to have done this work and they were especially revered for their great knowledge and dexterity in this area. The dwarves were known as very ugly creatures and the gods even found them so hideous that they were banished to the underground to do their work there and when they saw daylight they turned to stone according to legends. As the first dwarves Durinn and Modsognir were known, who were born from maggots and were known as creators of all other following dwarfs. Often these beings are also associated with Nidavellir and the mountains in which the entrance to their place of residence in the inner earth was and the dwarves have also been seen as the guardians of treasures.
Other characteristics were the shy nature and furthermore they were considered extremely intelligent are very popular in the Norse mythology and have shaped it to a large extent. The dwarves were also known to have created the weapons for the gods and among the most impressive works was the Hammer of Thor Mjolnir or the Ring Draupnir of Odin and generally they were known for creating great works with magic abilities and the dwarfs also had supernatural abilities such as making themselves invisible. Even if the origin is Norse mythology, they have shaped many other cultures and fairy tales or other works of art and are also a popular motif that has inspired many artists for many years and it was also believed that the dwarves can influence events in the world from inside of the earth.
Thanks for taking the time to read through my post and I hope you like it and can learn something new about Mythology!
