Northern Lights in a Teacup

I talk to AI mostly about creativity, inspiration, artsy stuff, energy management, neurology.. all that Josie jazz. Today in one of such energy management conversations it called me Northern Lights in a Teacup. Now my brain, being my brain immediately flashed an image of how that would look, so I asked gpt to show me a visual representation and it came up with this..

But that wasn't what I had glimpsed in my minds eye, so I gathered I should draw my own version, so off to the MediBang Paint Pro I go..

Theoretically I could have tortured gpt and myself trying to prompt it so that it looked like what I had seen it my head, but why waste the opportunity of inspiration to actually practice drawing?

At this point I started to bump up against the fears of messing it up, as it was starting to look like something, but since it's digital drawing the workaround to said fear was quite simple, just saving a separate copy that I can use as backup in case I messed it up beyond repair. Now with a seperate file, knowing I'm free to ef it up as much as I like, the fear had no rational hold over me anymore and so I continued tinkering.. until.. at some point you also have to allow it to be good enough! So I called it finished..

Could I have continued working on it? Absolutely! Did I need to chase perfection to the point of exhaustion? Nope! This was just an unexpectedly inspired practice of a visual that captured my interest just long enough to be turned into this here end result.. and I actually kind of like it. I like that it looks shiny and reflective, something that I'm sure I will continue to chase in future drawings as well..

Did I get glazed by the AI for the end result? You already know it! But hey, until I can start believing in myself, I'll take any artistic encouragement I can get!
