Feeling Stupid?
You are standing around a group of people in a social situation. Everyone is talking and sharing there views while you seem to be the only one not talking. Other people become aware of this fact so sooner or later they put the attention on you and ask you to speak. Without fail, you utter something that makes everyone blankly stare at you like you are brain dead and once again you immediately stop talking and bow your head in shame hoping that no one laughs at you too much. In this moment you hate yourself for feeling stupid and are thinking “You idiot! WTF is wrong with you?” “Why do you always say something dumb around others?”
Does this scenario sound familiar to you? Well let me explain this phenomenon in a way you can understand and benefit from! Allow me to answer the question: “Why do I always sound and feel stupid around others?” and “how can I become more intelligent?”
People and Their Intellect
Many people that want to overcome social anxiety have this issue. The average person sees stupidity as a flaw of human nature. When we see someone as stupid, we may think there is something wrong with them. Something wrong with their genetics, their IQ, their brain, etc. which is why most people these days are terrified of the idea of looking and feeling stupid; especially in this “intellectual” era we are currently in. People are afraid of their own stupidity and will do anything to make sure that they do not say something they will regret later because they see it as substandard intelligence.
In this video, I will explain why all of that is an illusion and how intelligence is simply there to give insight into your pre-existing self doubt and perceived limitations/worthlessness. If we gave ourselves a chance to bring our “stupidity” closer to us instead of trying to run away from it, we have a good chance or realizing the immense intelligence that is masked as “stupidity”. You can learn a lot from your own perceived lack of intelligence; much more than trying to be an intellectual or making sure you always think and act in a way you believe is the intelligent way to be. Feeling stupid can be a great window into the realization of your own incredible intelligence.
