For today's weed news we go to the great state of Michigan.
Pat Miles, a former Federal prosecutor who is hoping to become Michigan's next Attorney General has issued a statement highlighting his shift towards a pro-recreational marijuana stance!
He was quoted saying "After careful consideration and dialogue with activists and voters across the state, I've decided to take a stronger stance on marijuana legalization... I've reviewed the language of the ballot initiative to regulate marijuana like alcohol, and find it to be very thoughtful and well-written, and I support it."
The proposal gathered more than 365,000 signatures in November and would allow those 21 and older to possess up to 2.5 oz of cannabis and grow up to 12 plants at home.
Miles' opponent Dana Nessel also issued a statement about Miles' change of position adding "No one had to pull test this subject for me to know that supporting the responsible legalization and sensible regulation of recreational marijuana was the right thing to do. I stated my unequivocal support for legalizing recreational marijuana the day I launch my campaign."
So it looks to me like Michigan is on the road to inevitable cannabis legalization which will surely help bring some much-needed funds to the state.
