There is a famous quote attributed to the great American author, Mark Twain, upon learning there was a rumor he was on his deathbed in London:
"The report of my death was an exaggeration."
Since I have not published a Steem post for ~ 16 days, I have begun receiving inquiries (again ... ) about whether I have left the Steem blockchain?! 😉

"No!" Is the short answer ...
But, okay, while I have kept up limited engagement, through commenting and upvoting, I decided to take a few minutes (yeah right ... 😉) to write this post. Sort of in the general spirit of a "free write," although I have never actually created a post of that type before ...
So, not a lot of detail (at least for me ... 😉), here is a bit of what is going on in the life of @roleerob ...

❗ To-Do List ❗
Am I the only one with a long (seems impossibly so, at times ...) "to-do" list? Particularly that does not involve being online? Probably not ... 😉
Here's a quick look at what is "on top of me" at the moment:
Relationships
- Referenced before, in my reflections on my "Road to Recovery" trip, I spent a lot of time thinking about what is important. Truly important. Answer (for me)? People and the time we spend with them!
So ... Won't elaborate here and now, as details would be full Steem posts in their own right. We'll see whether I ever get to writing them ...
That said, I am actually doing some better on this, which will likely be a work-in-progress for a long time to come. And, to the degree I am successful, it will work in direct opposition to my being online, as that is not the time invested in people to which I am referring here ...
Responsibilities
- "Death and Taxes" - Since (at least as far as I can tell ... 😉) the former of these two "inevitables" hasn't hit me yet, I am still working on the latter.
Good grief! Is it ever complicated to try to figure the tax consequences of investing in this new "digital asset" class ... Still working on it, building a database (ERD shown below) to handle the challenge ... When I am finished, I do definitely intend to write about the details in one of my next Steem posts.
For now, I have filed for an extension for filing my tax return. For the first time in my life! Not happy about that, but I will get through it ...

- Beyond that, lots and lots of "odds and ends" projects to "check the box" on ... like ... "Spring cleaning" ... 😞
Celebrate Success!
This morning, on my favorite Steem app - SteemWorld by @steemchiller (if you don't know about it, I highly recommend you click on the supplied link here and check it out!) - I learned I am ever so close to a major accomplishment on my Steem "journey."

I am about to go over the $1,000 mark, for the amount of STEEM I have earned vs. simply having purchased. That means a lot to me.
As I have written elsewhere, I have the means to buy a much larger stake on the Steem blockchain than I do. I have chosen not to do that, as there are simply too many issues readily apparent to me to put any more of my hard-earned savings at risk.
That does not mean I can't invest more of my time into the Steem blockchain. And, in so doing, increase my stake by whatever my fellow Steemians deem my efforts to be worth.
We'll see what happens!

Closing
Well, that is enough for now. @steempeak indicates this post has exactly 742 words in it. A small post, at least for me ...
Thank you dear reader for reading along on my latest news. As time permits, I will likely do this again. I’d love to hear any feedback you may be inspired to provide.
Until "next time," all the best to you for an even better tomorrow, as we all work together to build our Steem Community! 👍 😊
Respectfully,
Steemian @roleerob
