Monday Motivation - #DailyTopicBlog
Hey Guys, in today's blog, I'll explain the two kinds of motivation. There is the intrinsic motivation, the motivation that comes from within. Then there is the extrinsic motivation, the motivation that depends on the outside. Important is that your motivation is mainly intrinsic.
The Intrinisic Motivation

The intrinsic motivation is when you do something without wanting something for it, when you do something because you enjoy it. You probably know this from your childhood or from children. They are all intrinsically motivated. Children play because they are curious, because they enjoy it, while they forget everything around them.
This motivation is the best and healthiest in the long run as long as the ratio with the Extrinsic is right.
The Extrinsic Motivation

The extrinsic motivation is when you do something because you get something for it, be it learning for good grades or working for money, or doing sports so you can run the marathon. Extrinsic motivation depends on external circumstances. You do something to get something.
This kind of motivation is only short-term, because it is not connected with fun but rather with a "MUST". It's okay for some things to be extrinisically motivated, but permanently it's not a solution. That's why so many speakers, motivators & even entrepreneurs say that what you do must be fun in the first place, no matter if it's about hobbies or earning money.
If you put your motivation on the extrinsic, you will either get depression and unhappy or your motivation breaks off and you stop doing your stuff immediately.
