Write the worst story possible. You have thirty minutes to do it. It never has to be shared with anyone. Remember the point is to make it as bad as possible.
We get stuck when we try to write something 'good.' Writing is a process. Sometimes it's good. Sometimes it's not. But it's impossible to write anything good if we are attempting to avoid the bad by not writing anything at all.
This simple exercise which I learned from a creative writer friend here in Hollywood is a way to embrace the bad to unleash the great. And it's fun.
