Hello Hiveans! It's been a while. Glad to be back on the blockchain and blogging. I've been looking at photos on my phone and realized that there's so much content just waiting to be uploaded from there alone. It's sad that I don't get to write as much as I want to because it's something that I love doing. Ever since I can remember, writing had always given me joy - from the creative process up to the finished product.
That is why blogging on Hive is such a cool thing for me. I get to do what I enjoy, get feedback from other Hiveans, and receive rewards in the process. It's the best scenario for an amateur writer. Moving forward, I do plan on investing more of my time here on the platform to be able to put out more of my content and, hopefully, increase my rewards to a point that it isn't a hobby anymore.
And that is a catch-22 situation for me. Turning a hobby into an income-generating profession has its downside. In fact, there are many downsides to it. For one, there is a chance that pressure becomes bigger than the joy of being an "artist". Because this shift involves changing perspective and looking more and more at the financial rewards of blogging versus the creative process, which is where I get my kicks. Meaning I relish the creative tension; that part of the process where what I imagine turns into reality.
This jump in perspective really pulls at the artistic and business side of my brain. On the one hand, I am able to satisfy the need to create something wonderful through the written word. Putting a price tag on the content shifts the bar from the standpoint of art to a monetary one. Granted, there's a point that both of these have to intersect in reality, but it isn't always as smooth as we want it to be.
And here is where I stand at the moment. I have said before that I would like to increase my presence here on the blockchain and gain enough rewards here to supplement or maybe even replace our primary sources of income, but that might still be a few years away. Unless something unexpected happens and we suddenly find ourselves looking at the price of Hive ten times of what it is at the moment. That would be amazing.
Is it impossible? I've seen stranger things happen on the cryptocurrency space before so this isn't really in the realm of non-fiction writing. LOL. But seriously, what I can do is just to continue what I am doing and slowly give more time and effort into my blogging journey. Hopefully, we will see better Hive prices moving forward.
So that's it for today. This is my "freewriting" practice, which I hope will come out more often. Happy weekend everyone. Sending out good vibes, and a weekend full of mindfulness, compassion, laughter and happy adventures with our loved ones. Remember to choose kindness and to be grateful no matter what.
Love and peace,
